Frequently Asked Questions
How does poop scooping service work?
We visit your property on a scheduled basis or one-time to remove pet waste from your yard or designated areas. Our technicians collect the waste, dispose of it responsibly, and sanitize their tools after every job to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Do I need to be home during the service?
No, you don’t need to be home as long as we have access to your yard. If you have a locked gate, please ensure it’s unlocked on your scheduled service day.
What areas do you serve?
We primarily serve Buffalo, NY, and surrounding suburbs, covering most of Erie County. You can check if we serve your area by entering your zip code during the estimate process.
If you live in Niagara County and are interested, please reach out to us. If there is enough interest, we will open service routes to include Niagara County.
How much do your services cost?
Our service plans start at $60 per month. Pricing depends on yard size, the number of dogs, and service frequency, with most customers paying between $85 and $130 monthly.
What factors determine the cost of the service?
Costs are determined by yard size, the number of dogs, and service frequency. Larger yards or higher waste volumes may result in additional charges.
How often should I schedule poop scooping services?
Weekly service is ideal for most homes to keep yards clean and odor-free. For multiple pets or high-traffic areas, twice-a-week service might be better.
In Amherst and Hamburg, local codes require dog owners to clean up waste weekly, making weekly service highly recommended in these towns.
Can I book a one-time cleanup instead of recurring services?
Yes! We offer one-time cleanups for special occasions or when you need a fresh start. We recommend recurring services for continuous cleanliness.
Do you sanitize your equipment after each job?
Yes, all equipment and shoes are sanitized with kennel-grade disinfectant after every visit to prevent germ spread and maintain cleanliness.
What does Scoop Za Poop do with pet waste?
We dispose of pet waste in compliance with local regulations, considering it a hazardous material. We double-bag the waste and place it in your garbage can or neatly on the side of the house if the bin is inaccessible, ensuring responsible handling.
Do you service all year?
Yes, Scoop Za Poop operates year-round. Even in winter, we provide cleaning services, as most waste remains on top of the snow, making it accessible. During heavy snowfall, we may suspend services until conditions improve.
What happens if the weather is bad on my scheduled service day?
We continue to service during rain or snow. During extreme weather like thunderstorms or heavy snowfall, we may suspend services for the day and return on the next scheduled clean-up to pull double duty. We will contact you as soon as we decide to suspend service due to weather-related issues.
Do I have to sign a contract for your services?
No contracts are required. You can start, pause, or cancel services anytime.
Can you clean with my dog in the yard?
While we love dogs, we ask that your dogs are kept inside during our visit. Even the best dogs may feel uncomfortable with someone unfamiliar in their “territory.”
We would love to meet your dogs so they become familiar with us.
Can I request a specific cleanup day?
Yes, you can request a specific cleanup day. While not all days may be available in your area, we generally offer 2-3 options to best fit your schedule, thanks to our flexible routing system.
Do you provide an arrival window for services?
No, we don’t provide specific arrival times for our pooper scooper services. We optimize our routes the day before to reduce drive time and keep costs low. However, you will receive an arrival notification approximately 30-60 minutes before we arrive to ensure you’re informed and prepared.
